It’s a beautiful Spring evening in Aurora Skies. The snow was just beginning to melt, so there was still a nip in the air. But this didn’t stop Melanie and Jakob from enjoying their date night.
MELANIE: “So the Bjorn Cafe is really known for their specialty grasshopper pie so I think I might get that. What are you going to have?”
JAKOB: “I’ve always been more of a key lime kind of guy.” :)
MELANIE: “Ooh, that sounds good too.”
The two got their respected desserts and talked the night away. They sat at the small table in the corner of the cafe until it was closing time. With a small kiss goodbye, Jakob was out the door and on his way home.
Speaking of home…shouldn’t you be heading to bed about now Melanie? Aren’t you exhausted?
“It’s just. I’ve been thinking. I’m not going to get any younger right? And I love Jakob a whole lot so…”
So you’re going to…drug him?
“No! This is for me. It’s an elixir; it will give me the energy and confidence I need to ask Jakob to marry me. Well…here goes nothing.”
So after rolling the wish to marry Jakob, Melanie drank her potion and was on her way to his house.
JAKOB: “Melanie? What are you doing here?”
MELANIE: “Look, just hear me out okay. I know we haven’t exactly been dating long. I know that your customs dictate a long period of dating before but…I can’t imagine living the rest of my life without you in it.”
MELANIE: “So, I ask you from the bottom of my heart…”
MELANIE: “Please, Jakob Geirsson, will you marry me?”
JAKOB: “OH. Melanie of course I’ll marry you.”
MELANIE: “Really?! Yes! Yes!”
MELANIE: “I love you so much.”
JAKOB: “I love you too my prinsessa.”
JAKOB: “I can’t believe this is actually happening.”
MELANIE: “So when’s the date?”
JAKOB: “The end of the season. Right before summer when everything is in full bloom. I know it’s fast but I can’t imagine the rest of my life without you in it either.”
And so the happy couple spent the rest of the night planning out details of the wedding – the dress (an old one Melanie already owned), the cake (chocolate – both of their favorites), and the venue (the cute little church across town). It was going to be perfect, they both knew it.
